Who Pays the Taxes?

Various governments have a range of taxes associated with your hospitality business.

They include:

  • Sales Taxes (VAT, TVA, GST, sales tax)
  • Income Taxes (company and persona taxes)
  • Social Contribution taxes (unemployment, health, retirement surcharges and taxes)
  • Tourism Taxes (STR taxes, tourist taxes, etc)

We expect Stays to be correctly registered and compliant with their local taxation laws.

Nomad Stays does not collect or remit taxes on behalf of Stays or Stay Owners.

We expect you to include all necessary taxes in the net price of your offerings.  Nomad Stays does not collect or remit taxes on behalf of Stays.

What about countries that tax platforms for property bookings?

Some countries have started requiring platforms to collect and remit taxes for accommodation bookings.  Currently these laws are not uniform around the world and quite technically different.

Nomad Stays has either stopped taking bookings for Stays in some countries, or limited the range of options available to Stays in those countries.

If you're affected by one of these countries contact us to discuss what options might exist for your country.
