Preventing Double Bookings

There's nothing worse than a double booking. You get an upset client, upset agent, you lose business, you have to do a lot of work finding alternative accommodation, and in Nomad Stays case you end up being suspended from the platform resulting in lost marketing and future business as well. For small operators its often worse as you don't have many other rooms to offer as alternatives, and probably haven't tested you Overflow Solutions recently. Luckily preventing double bookings is as easy a...

How will I get paid?

The standard arrangement is that you get paid directly by the Guest at check-in. They will pay you the net price of the package you've listed with us. The price that you've given us. The guest was already paid a Booking Fee to us to secure their booking, and now pays you the balance at check-in. As part of the check-in process the Member should show you a Confirmation Form or Email, or some other proof that the booking belongs to them. They will also have a Confirmation Form showing the moni...

How Do Stays Cancel Bookings?

How Do Stays Cancel Bookings? Some platforms allow Stays to cancel bookings made by Guests, usually with penalty costs applied. We don't at this stage. Once a booking is made a Stay has created a contract to supply accommodation to a Member in line with their booking details. If you find yourself in a situation where you can't complete the contract and accommodate the Member you need to find a suitable replacement for the Member. This will typically involve you initiating your Overflow Pr...

Do you take bookings longer than 1 month?

Do you take bookings longer than 1 month? No. Not at this time. Why don't you do 3 month or longer bookings? As 'travelers' they ofte...

Overbookings

Booking Requests

Can you send me a Booking Request instead of a Confirmed Booking? No, sorry. Nomad Stays is a booking platform that works on an Instant Booking model which means Members can secure a Stay immediately and Stays secure a booking with the minimum of effort. Deposits

Tell me about Deposits Nomad Stays doesn't take deposits. But you may choose to. To make a booking and take advantage of a deal on Nomad Stays our Members need to put money down on the table and pay a booking fee. These are confirmed bookings not just reservation inquiries. We suggest its best to do...

How do Bookings Work?

How do Bookings Work? Bookings start when a guest sees a package and checks its availability for their preferred dates on our site. If there's a room/bed available, the guest can make the booking. If there's no availability or the package isn't live on their chosen dates, they are prevented from placing a booking. Once they're OK to place the booking they pay us the booking fee on the spot to confirm their acceptance of the deal package. We immediately confirm the booking to them, and you via...

Member Cancellations and No Shows

Member Cancellations and No Shows Nomad Stays is not an e-commerce style business with lots of occasional users. Its much more like a membership-based club where members enjoy amazing deals not found elsewhere. Which means they have a lot to lose by abusing the system. If a guest cancels within the cancellation period, you'll be advised. If a guest pays for a booking and doesn't arrive (no show) then they are immediately suspended from the service pending a review. They won't be able to t...

Extra Nights

Extra Nights While we promote prices for fixed periods, like 7 and 14 nights we do allow guests to add extra nights to their bookings. For instance guests may want a 9 night booking instead of just 7 nights. In these circumstances we add the extra nights at an average rate based on the 'next shortest' period you've already given us. For example. A guest wants 9 nights. You've already given us rates of say, $280 for 7 nights and $420 for 14 nights. As 9 is less than 14 we use the next shor...

Guest Arrivals Without Bookings

A guest without a booking arrived. What should I do? Firstly, you should ask to see their Confirmation and record the number. Then, if you have a room available you'll want to secure this guest so taking a credit card deposit for any 'extras' would be a good idea. Next, we need to determine if there's been a communication problem with us so please contact us with the Confirmation number and details of the guest. If they have not made a confirmed booking in our system then you are free to ...
