Do You Offer Long Term Leases?

No. Nomad Stays does not currently issue long term leases, and we do not work in the long term rental market.

Nomad Stays is a travel platform. Digital Nomads are fundamentally travellers. We are focused on travellers, such as digital nomads and remote workers, who stay somewhere for a while and then move on. Our bookings are accommodation bookings for travellers, and we work to tourism regulations more than to residential tenancy rules.

What a Nomad Stays Booking Is

  • A booking for a set period of accommodation at a Stay, with a fixed arrival and departure date.
  • Made and paid for through the Nomad Stays platform, under the Stay’s package and cancellation terms.
  • Intended for a traveller who stays for a medium period of time. They may be a perpetual traveller or have a home base elsewhere.

What It Is Not

  • It is not a residential lease or tenancy agreement.
  • It is not intended to make the Stay the guest’s permanent home or legal residence.
  • It is not a route to renting a property on an open-ended or year-to-year basis.

For Stay Partners

Stays of a month or more are longer than a typical holiday booking, but they are still traveller stays. Please keep this in mind when you list:

  • We do not provide lease documents. Nomad Stays does not draft, issue or manage tenancy contracts between you and your guests.
  • List under the rules for traveller accommodation. Your Stay should be one you are permitted to offer to travellers where it is located.
  • Check where the line falls locally. In some places a stay beyond a certain length can start to be treated as a residential tenancy, with different rules. Ask your local legal and accounting advisors where that line is and how it is counted. See What Legal Documentation and Permits Do I Need to List My Stay?
  • If you are looking for long term tenants, a residential letting agent or long term rental platform will be a better fit than Nomad Stays.

For Travellers

  • We cannot provide a lease or tenancy contract for your stay, including for visa, residency, banking or address-registration purposes.
  • What we do provide is your booking confirmation and an invoice for each payment. See How to Get Invoices for Your Purchases.
  • If an authority asks you for a lease, check with them whether a booking confirmation is acceptable before you book. Requirements differ from country to country and we cannot advise on them.
  • Staying longer? You are welcome to book a longer package or extend your stay where the Stay has availability. It remains a traveller booking, not a lease.

Will This Change?

This is how we work today. If we begin offering long term rental options in the future, we will update this article.
