For small operators generally the answer is yes.
Without some form of Master Calendar that we can read automatically, your availability is limited to 90 days from your update.
A 90 day maximum limits the chance of double bookings, rejections and penalties if you’ve forgotten an update.
Master Calendars are typically:
- an iCal feed,
- an API-integrated Channel Manager connection, or
- an MCP Server feed.
iCal is the most popular format for small operators.
Larger Operators
If you are sufficiently large enough to have spare capacity (you have more than 15 rooms) you can provide us with ‘ free sale’ rights. The right to book up to your limit without checking first.
Why?
With an automatic feed updating your availability there is much less chance of overbookings.
Overbookings can easily result in a booking not going ahead at all. It’s a problem for everyone that often results in a Stay being delisted from Nomad Stays and facing significant costs to become listed again.
When you applied for listing you were accepted on the basis of having a live availability system, or large enough to offer free sale.

What Happens if I Don’t Have an iCal?
For larger Stays (more than 15 rooms in total) that have given us free-sale rights, we offer an Extranet facility where you can update the quantity of ‘free sale’ rooms you’re giving us.
Our Extranet allows you to manage your own inventory directly with us.
The Extranet system is open to Stays with more than 15 rooms in total who have given us free-sale rights.
If you don’t have an iCal, and are not eligible for free-sale, then you can only offer up to 90 days of availability and will need to update this regularly.
Instant booking is too critical in this AI powered age.
